JOINING THE YIK RESEARCH GROUP
Postdoctoral Research Associates
Candidates seeking an externally-funded postdoctoral fellowship should contact Brandon well in advance, and will be provided with the necessary scientific and administrative support to produce a competitive proposal.
Graduate Students
Prospective graduate students (PhD and Masters students) must be first admitted to the University of Georgia's Department of Chemistry Graduate Program before they can join the Yik Research Group. For assistance with the application process, please contact the Chemistry Graduate Coordinator. Prospective applicants are strongly encouraged to reach out to Brandon before beginning the application process.

There are also many chemistry education research programs in the United States and in Canada.
Undergraduate Students
Prospective UGA undergraduate students should first reach out to Brandon to see if there are any opportunities to join the group. Depending on the project and skill sets needed, chemistry majors are preferred, but having taken organic chemistry is necessary. Several opportunities exist to receive research credit for a degree program or through internal funding:
-
CURO Research Award for fall/spring/summer research scholarships
-
Research Course Credit (CHEM 4960R/4970R/4980R) or Research Thesis Credit (CHEM 4990R)
