Congratulations to Creed and Madi, who have been awarded a CURO Research Award for Fall 2025! This award comes with a $1000 scholarship for outstanding undergraduate students who actively participate in faculty-mentored research. Creed and Madi will present their research at the Spring 2026 CURO Symposium.

Brandon is named as a member of the 2025 JACS Au Early Career Advisory Board! In this role, he will advise the journal and editorial team on emerging opportunities and future direction, and promote chemistry education research in the journal.

July 6–11, 2025
Brandon was invited to present at the Gordon Research Conference on Chemistry Education Research and Practice held in Lewiston, ME! Brandon's talk was in the "AI and Computational Thinking" session.
Brandon also presented a poster on his specifications grading project in organic chemistry. The title of his poster was "Evaluating the impact of grading schemes on students' motivation in organic chemistry."

Brandon traveled to Lexington, KY for the 28th Biennial Conference on Chemical Education. He gave two presentations: (1) "The role of prompt engineering on ChatGPT-generated explanations of organic chemistry reaction mechanisms" and (2) "Development and validation of the Perceptions of Grading Schemes instrument". Brandon also co-organized and presided over a symposium, "Catalyzing Innovations in Chemistry Education Research: Harnessing the Power of Machine Learning and Generative Artificial Intelligence".
